Part-time Laundry Aide
No Weekends!1-2 Days a week

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITES |

|
The primary functions and responsibilities of this position are as follows. Additional duties may be |
||||||||
|
added as necessary to meet the needs of the facility. You will be evaluated on your ability to perform |
||||||||
|
these functions competently with minimal supervision and/or reminders. |
||||||||
|
1) |
Gather soiled laundry from various locations throughout the facility and transport to |
|||||||
|
laundry area according to established procedures and schedules. |
||||||||
|
2) |
Sort soiled laundry by color, fabric, type, etc., and prepare for washing by pre-soaking/ |
|||||||
|
spotting as needed and according to established procedures. |
||||||||
|
3) |
Load washers and dryers to proper capacity, set proper cycle/time/temperature, dispense |
|||||||
|
proper detergents/chemicals or set dispensing equipment, according to procedures and |
||||||||
|
instructions. |
||||||||
|
4) |
Neatly fold/hang/stack items from dryer specific to different types of items, fabric content, |
|||||||
|
size; recognize items in need of ironing and iron items. |
||||||||
|
5) |
Recognize items in need of repair or beyond repair; mend items in need of mending; |
|||||||
|
"without" items beyond repair/in need of replacement and reports to supervisor. |
||||||||
|
6) |
Distribute clean laundry to general storage areas and resident rooms according to |
|||||||
|
established procedures and in time framces, and in accordance with residents' rights |
||||||||
|
and facility loss/theft control practices. |
||||||||
|
7) |
Maintain washers/dryers/other equipment and laundry area in clean, proper operating |
|||||||
|
condition according to established schedules and procedures. |
||||||||
|
8) |
Perform established infection control, universal precautions, and safety procedures |
|||||||
|
a) transporting/handling/processing/storing soiled and clean laundry |
||||||||
|
b) use and storage of laundry and cleaning chemicals |
||||||||
|
c) disposal of refuse and waste materials |
||||||||
|
9) |
Follow material safety data sheets (MSDS). |
|||||||
|
10) |
Follow schedules for the laundry department. |
|||||||
|
11) |
Follow laundry procedures in accordance with facility policy. |
|||||||
|
12) |
Follow waste disposal procedures in accordance with facility policy. |
|||||||
|
13) |
Properly use and care for laundry equipment. |
|||||||
|
14) |
Use laundry supplies properly and efficiently. |
|||||||
|

|
|
|
|
|
|
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED |

Observe and abide by all HIPAA rules and regulations to ensure that personal health |
|||||||
|
information is protected during its collection, use, disclosure, storage and destruction |
||||||||
|
within Prairie View; and to ensure only the minimum necessary information is known to |
||||||||
|
function in this position. |

|

||||||||

Be responsible for the safety or residents related to laundry duties. |
|||||||
|

Observe all facility policies and procedures. |
|||||||

Come to work in neat, clean attire and consistently present an appropriate professional |
|||||||
|
appearance. |
||||||||
|
15) |
Participates in in-service training programs and completes assignments, return |
|||||||
|
demonstrations, or criterion tests as required. |
||||||||
|
16) |
Consistently work coopratively with residents, residents' representatives, facility staff, |
|||||||
|
physicians, consultants, and ancillary service providers. |
||||||||
|
17) |
Work as a team oriented person to assure all work and schedules are being completed. |
