Part-time Overnight CNA
Purpose of this position
The primary purpose of this job is to provide each of your assigned residents with routine daily nursing care and service in ordinance with the residents assessment and care plan, and may be directed by your supervisor or the charge nurse
Primary job responsibilities
- Perform resident care techniques and procedures according to certification, instruction and instruction from supervisor and/or charge nurse
- Identify resident problem and concerns and report them immediately to the charge nurse or D.O.N. Observe and report change in medical condition, resistance to care, special problems or unusual incident regarding residents.
- Provide ADL assistance to residence as determined by the care plan, including, but not limited to toileting, bathing dressing, eating, and ambulating
- Assure residents have call at hand and answer call lights promptly
- Conduct rounds as assigned and perform bed checks. Change and reposition residents as needed.
- Complete documentation, accurately, timely, and following facility policy and procedures
- Utilize special equipment in a safe and effective manner based on training received on each piece of equipment during training shifts
- Be responsible for the safety of residents under her supervision
- Assume personal responsibility for following facility procedures related to control of equipment and supplies within the facility
- Identify safety, hazards and emergency situations, and initiate corrective action
- Perform other related duties as directed by his/her supervisor
- To assure resident safety
- Recognize your role as part of the QAPI efforts of your organization
- Attend trainings to build understanding and capacity to undertake QAPI work
- Carry out QAPI rolls and responsibilities as assigned
- Follow establish policies and procedures in support of QAPI efforts
- Look for and share with leadership ideas for improvement in the organization
- Communicate to leadership upon witnessing a positive outcome of a QAPI project or detecting barriers, preventing project success
- Support QAPI efforts, both verbally and non-verbally (I.e. via actions and attitude), including adjusting performance and practice in accordance with QAPI initiatives and findings
Knowledge, skills and abilities required
- Observe and abide by all HIPAA rules and regulations to ensure that personal health information is protected. Ensure that the minimum necessary information is known to function in this position.
- Follow written and oral directions from supervisor charge nurse and administrator
- Maintain confidentiality of resident and facility information. Follow residents, rights policies at all times.
- Listen to resident and family questions and complaints in a calm, concerned, manner controlling emotions such as anger and frustration
- Come to work in a clean, neat uniform. Present in appropriate professional appearance consistently. Work as scheduled and comply with attendance policy.
- Work cooperatively with resident, charge nurses, other CNA‘s, consultant personnel, and other facility staff members
- Attend all in-service classes as assigned. Participate in team meetings as assigned.
- Assume accountability for compliance with federal state, and other regulations within scope of control and of which informed
- Observe all facility policies and procedures
- Perform all duties assigned in an effective timely and professional manner
- Perform all related duties as directed by his/her supervisor
Fulltime Day CNA
