Full Time Day Cook

Prairie View Campus is a five-star facility offering a continuum of care. All positions are extremely important and change the daily lives of the elderly throughout our campus. The Full-Time Cook, under supervision of the Dietary Services Manager assures that resident meals and other nourishments are properly prepared/cooked and apportioned according to authorized menus and individual care plans.

Full-Time Cook RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Handle and prepare food in a sanitary manner
  • Prepare food, which is palatable and appetizing in appearance, with strict adherence to written recipes, menus, and individual diet orders
  • Log and/or record temperatures of food storage as requested
  • Maintain sanitation of equipment and utensils, and work/storage/serving areas by cleaning immediately after use
  • Clean according to established schedule for routine cleaning
  • Follow written menus and recipes
  • Maintain strict adherence to serving schedules for meals.
  • Be responsible for care of food service equipment
  • Perform other related duties or projects as assigned by the dietary services manager
  • Follow cleaning list as assigned

Full-Time Cook REQUIREMENTS:

  • Work cooperatively with food service staff and other departments
  • Come to work as scheduled and consistently demonstrate dependability and punctuality
  • Consistently work cooperatively with residents, residents’ representatives, facility staff, physicians, consultants and ancillary service providers

Fulltime Day Dietary Aide

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITES

The primary functions and responsibilities of this position are as follows: additional duties may be

added as necessary to meet the needs of the facility. You will be evaluated on your ability to

perform these functions completently with minimal supervision and/or reminders.

1) Prepare/setup or assist with special meals, desserts, etc…

2) Setup or assist with setting up of the dining room.

3) Keep items refilled in the dining room.

4) Observe meals and offer extra nourishments to people not eating.

5) Oversee kitchen activities.

6) Gathering of temp records in department, reviewing and filing.

7) Ordering of supplies, checking in and storing.

8) Putting monthly calendars for recording temps & cleaning check offs.

9) Overseeing in dining room that things are running smoothly.

10) Assist Dietary Manager to ensure that policy & procedures are being followed.

11) Preparing schedule and assist with filling in hours.

12) Assist Dietary Manager to ensure that the kitchen staff is following local, state,and

federal healthcode guidelines.

13) Taking calls from staff after hours and on weekends, including 1st to cover shifts then

Dietary Manager unless on vacation.

14) All other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

1) Observe and abide by all HIPPA rules and regulations to ensure that personal health

information is protected during its collection, use, disclosure, storage and destruction

within Prairie View; and to ensure only the minimum necessary information is known

to function in this position.

3) Attend in-service training programs for Food Service employees.

4) Follow all facility safety policies and procedures.

5) Accept assigned duties in a cooperative manner.

6) Assume accountability for data contained in the employees' handbook.

9) Observe infection control procedures related to the Dietary Department.

Part-time LPN/RN

Option of 6p-6a or 10p-6a shift

All positions are extremely important and change the daily lives of the elderly throughout our campus. Under the Director of Nursing, the Charge Nurse directs the provision of resident care services for a particular shift/unit and supervises the nursing staff assigned to that unit/shift. The Charge Nurse (LPN/RN) will perform direct nursing services to residents, in accordance with individual plans of care and physicians’ orders.

Full-Time Nurse (LPN/RN) RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Be responsible for the safety of the residents under his/her supervision
  • Supervise and evaluate all direct resident care and initiate corrective action as necessary
  • Document resident care provided and resident’s response or lack of response to care provided
  • Conduct resident rounds daily, reporting problems to nursing supervisor and initiating action
  • Identify problems and emergency situations and initiate emergency care and “life-saving” measures in the absence of a physician
  • Administer and document resident care, medications, external/parenteral nutritional and treatments per physicians’ orders and accurately record all care provided
  • Competently perform basic nursing skills

Full-Time Nurse (LPN/RN) REQUIREMENTS:

  • Current, valid Iowa Nurse License
  • Current, valid CPR Certification
  • Consistently work cooperatively with residents, nursing staff, physicians, families, consultant personnel, community agencies and ancillary service providers
  • Identify safety hazards and initiate corrective action immediately
  • Come to work as scheduled and consistently demonstrate dependability and punctuality, complies with attendance policy
