Skilled Nursing at Prairie View Home
Prairie View Home was the beginning of it all starting back in 1966. Licensed as a 55-bed skilled nursing facility, Prairie View Home’s employees are dedicated individuals who come to work everyday and do their best to make a difference in the lives of our customers.
Offering not only “skilled” care but, intermediate and hospice care as well, Prairie View Home is made up of both single and double rooms. The layout of Prairie View Home is best described as a “T”. Consisting of a west, east, south& southeast halls the building also offers many special areas for residents and their families to gather. A large activity room located down the east hall is the sight of many bingo games, musical entertainment, church services, exercises, parties, etc. We also have a library area at the end of the east hall, a spacious therapy room within our southeast hall, a private family meeting room up by the front offices and a social room located right off the main dining room. One thing we love to do around here is eat and that might explain why the coffee is always on, popcorn is always popping and the ice-cream machine is such a big hit.
A beauty shop is located within Prairie View Home and we have a licensed beautician on staff who is available weekly by appointment for that much needed haircut, perm or set.
Services offered at the facility include nursing care, 3 meals a day plus snacks, free cable TV, housekeeping, personal laundry, physical/occupational/speech therapy consultations and treatments, daily restorative therapy, an activity program, social services, doctor visits, pharmacy consultation, dietician, ET nurse consultation and treatments and much more.
Our pricing is based on whether or not you have chosen a semi-private or private room. We do not do levels of care nor do we charge additional fees for personal care items. Prairie View Home does accept Medicaid, Medicare & some Medicare Advantage Plan payments for services rendered to qualifying residents. For customers whom have depleted their personal finances and are in need of financial assistance through the state to cover their stay at the facility, we are able to assist you with this application process AT NO COST.
Long term care insurance has become a very common thing over the past years and we currently have several residents whom have long term care insurance policies residing at our facility. Prairie View Home has been approved by more than two-dozen companies and the office staff have become experts in assisting families with all the paperwork needing to be completed for their family member to receive reimbursement from their policy. Just one more of those extras we like to help out with.

Short-Term Rehabilitation & Recovery Stays
A growing service in the long-term care world are short-term rehabilitation & recovery stays; a stay of 100 days or less. Our short-term care program is ideal for individuals recovering from surgery or joint replacement, illness or hospitalization, stroke or cardiac events, injury and orthopedic recovery.
Our goal is to help each guest regain strength, mobility, and independence as quickly and safely as possible to return to their home. We do this through a personalized rehabilitation plan, 24/7 skilled nursing care, physical, occupational, and speech therapy services, medication management and by coordinating discharge services with your physician prior to your return home.

Hospice Care
Sometimes the individuals we serve shift their focus to “comfort and quality of life”. Clarifying that the goal is managing symptoms rather than seeking a cure.
At Prairie View, we are proud to partner with local, Medicare-certified hospice agencies to provide compassionate, specialized end-of-life care. Our residents can continue living in the comfort of their familiar surroundings while receiving an extra layer of physical, emotional, and spiritual support.
We are also proud to have a special private resident room dedicated specifically for these residents, The Sunset Room. Consisting of a bedroom and separate living room area, the Sunset Room features a comfy sofa & chairs, plasma TV’s, small refrigerator, coffee pot and homey décor, it even has a bulletin board for family photos.
When dealing with the declining health of a loved one it is comforting to our families to know they have a private, warm, inviting room to spend time with them and even spend the night if they so desire.
